Why Use G CSF or Plerixafor?

In some workflows, especially those involving CD34 positive stem cells, standard leukapheresis does not provide sufficient yield. This is where donor mobilization becomes important.

Mobilizing agents such as G CSF or plerixafor stimulate the movement of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells from the bone marrow into peripheral blood. The result is a significant increase in circulating CD34 positive cells.
